Look back before you plan ahead
Before setting goals for 2027, spend 15 minutes on five questions. Each one uses a screen you already have. The numbers below are Nadia's sample data, from when she started tracking in October.
1 · Did my net worth go up?
Open the Dashboard and set the net-worth chart to its longest range. Nadia's went from ৳482,350 to ৳496,200 — up ৳13,850. (Net-worth history is recorded daily for Pro accounts.)
2 · Where did the money go?
Use the Expenses page month by month and note your top three categories. Nadia's, since October:
| Category | Total |
|---|---|
| Groceries | ৳20,400 |
| Eating out | ৳16,380 |
| Transport | ৳6,300 |
3 · Which budgets held?
Count the category-months that stayed within their cap. Nadia kept 9 of 12. The ones that didn't are worth a closer look — was the cap too low, or the spending too high?
4 · Which goals did I finish?
Nadia's "Wedding gift" goal reached ৳15,000 on 20 December, up from ৳6,500 in October. Finished goals are worth noticing — they show that small, regular saving works.
5 · What's one thing to change in 2027?
Just one. Logging spending the same day, raising one budget that's always too tight, or starting one new goal with a date. Write it down where you'll see it.
FAQ
How long does a money review take?
About 15 minutes if your transactions are already logged. The point isn't a perfect report — it's five honest answers.
Does Rabit Ledger have a yearly report?
Not a single report screen. You answer each question from screens that already exist: the net-worth chart, the Expenses page month by month, Budgets and Goals.
What if I only started tracking recently?
Review the months you have. Even two or three months show where money goes and which budgets hold.
